Melania Trump says Obama administration withheld information

Today marks the beginning of Donald Trump’s second term as President of the United States. After a historic and controversial election, Trump has once again been chosen by the people to lead the nation. The atmosphere is filled with anticipation as he takes the oath of office alongside his wife, former First Lady Melania Trump.

Trump’s previous presidency, spanning from 2017 to 2021, ended with significant political tensions. While many hope for a smoother transition this time around, the political landscape remains divided.

Melania Trump and Her Role as First Lady

Unlike her first term as First Lady, Melania Trump is reportedly planning to split her time between multiple residences instead of residing full-time at the White House. With their son Barron now studying in New York, Melania is expected to spend a significant portion of her time there to support him.

Her decision has sparked discussions, as First Ladies traditionally live full-time at the White House. However, given Melania’s past reluctance toward public life and the intense scrutiny that comes with being in the White House, her choice does not come as a surprise to many.

Differences in This Power Transition

Melania Trump recently shared insights about the differences between the transition process from the Obama administration to the Trump administration in 2017 and the current transition in 2025.

In an interview regarding her memoir, Melania, she stated:

“The first time was challenging, we didn’t have much of the information, the information was withheld from us by the previous administration. But this time I have everything, I have the plans. I could move in, I already packed – I already selected the furniture that needs to go in.”

This statement suggests that the Obama administration did not provide a smooth handover of information in 2017, which made the initial transition difficult. However, this time, Melania feels more prepared, knowing exactly what to expect.

Melania’s View on Being First Lady

Despite her public support for her husband, Melania has always maintained a relatively reserved approach to her role as First Lady. Observers have noted that she does not appear overly enthusiastic about resuming her position.

Her memoir, which delves into her experiences as First Lady, sheds light on the challenges she faced. While she acknowledges the importance of the role, there is a sense that she would not have been devastated if Trump had lost the election.

Even though she is taking on the duties again, her plan to divide her time between multiple locations indicates that she may not embrace the role as wholeheartedly as some of her predecessors.

Public Reactions

Trump’s second term is expected to be just as eventful as his first, and Melania’s role in it remains a topic of interest. While some supporters admire her quiet strength and dignity, critics argue that she has remained too distant from key national issues.

As the new administration begins, people across the nation and the world will be watching to see how Melania balances her responsibilities and personal choices.
